Imagine a child waking up on his or her birthday (the one day each year that is supposed to be their special day) and they receive nothing, not even one tiny present. Unfortunately, this is the reality for many children.

There are tons of resources out there that provide gifts for kids at the holidays, but no programs that help out with birthdays. Out of the Blue Birthdays is on a mission to let children know that they are special and that we celebrate the day they were born!

How do we do this?
By delivering a birthday gift, of course!

How does it work?
Well, kids must be nominated by a teacher, guidance counselor, coach or medical professional. This is how we find the truly needy children. They give us the age, sex and birthdate and we deliver the gift to the appointed person at the school.

Where are the kids we help?
Right now we are helping kids in Seminole County, FL. We will be working with these schools in the Fall 2009: Partin Elementary, Evans Elem, Lawton Middle, Jackson Heights Middle, Oviedo High, Hagerty High.

How can I make a child's birthday special?
By sponsoring a child.

What are the ways to sponsor a child?

Donate money (FYI, many of our artists are excited about this program and have signed on to allow Out of the Blue Birthdays to purchcase gifts at their materials cost - meaning they donate their time to create the gift)
Purchase a gift off of the Out of the Blue Delivered website and put a note during checkout that this gift is to be donated.

Donate a gift by sending it to us or by dropping it at one of our drop-off sites.

I want to pick a child to sponsor.
If you wish to, you can choose to sponsor a child based on age, gender, birthdate or school...so, whatever your motivation for donating, we will do our best to find the child that matches your criteria.

Do donated gifts need to be wrapped?
Nope. We will take care of it!

What's with the Fairy?
Since our gifts are donated anonymously, they arrive with a card that says the recipient has been visited by the Birthday Fairy.
